 to understand in order to design spectacular alien life? In this talk\, Dr
 . Anna Gioran\, biologist and sci-fi aficionado\, will explore these quest
 ions through the numerous examples of inexhaustible and majestic life that
  prevails on our planet.Dr. Anna Gioran studied biology at the National an
 d Kapodistrian University of Athens and conducted her doctoral studies at 
 the University of Bonn in Germany. After earning her PhD\, she worked as a
  post-doctoral researcher at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Disor
 ders (DZNE). At the moment\, Dr. Gioran works as a postdoctoral researcher
  at the National Hellenic Research Foundation. In addition to this\, for t
 he past decade she has been working as a scientific consultant for SoundFe
 llas that is a software and media company based in Greece. Her scientific 
 interests revolve around metabolism and ageing while during her free time 
 she loves watching sci-fi films and observing popular aliens.
